Hey. Check out her Bally bag, DL. [via vogue.com]
(This is an allusion to our upcoming Fashion Fantasy Friday, people.)

It is! It is! That leather was so delicious and the super heavy and perfectly designed hardware and closures made all the difference between this heritage luxury brand and everything else from even Gucci down to PS or Wang. No one does hardware that good. Damn.

Shoes. Speechless.

30 day photography challege, day 5: from a high angle
shooting my sons from above is one of my favorite things to do, so i immediately knew they would be the subject matter for today’s assignment. i typically place them on the navy blue carpet in their room when playing with this angle because i love how they pop off of the dark background. but while they were playing on our porch a little bit ago, i loved how their toys, outfits and the bamboo mat they were sitting on were all the same color combination of greens, oranges and blues.
this is q baby playing with his favorite whale stacking toy. for some reason he decided sitting in this “split” position was totally comfortable.
p.s. don’t babylegs make any outfit instantly more adorable and quirky???

30 day photo challege, day 4: something green
i bought asparagus this morning at the farmer’s market from a very lovely amish gentleman. it came to serve a triple purpose: grilled for our dinner, steamed and diced in a frittata for g/q, and photographed for today’s assignment.
i shot this using the food mode (L-O-V-E that our camera has a food mode!!!) using the macro setting. i was losing what little bit of natural light i had left (today? mucho grande clouds!!!), but i like how the low light picks up that aubergine hue that often goes overlooked on asparagus.

30 day photo challenge, day 3: clouds
c’mon, ithaca. you’re one of the cloudiest places on the planet (the CULLENS lived here for a while, for goodness’ sake!). but today, when i need clouds, there are none to be found. that said, today’s deep blue sky illustrates why those of us who live here tolerate nine months of the coldest, dampest, most miserable weather there is: when the sun shines, it truly is gorgeous (ba-dum-bum).
i shot this using the landscape mode, with the surf & snow setting on, in an attempt to tone down how bright it is out. it didn’t work, and sadly, i have no idea how to use photoshop because i really would like to bring out some more depth in the trees. i do, however, like how the leaves on the edges took on a shimmery-gold quality.
